My First Ski Trip

I heard that the National Council for the Blind of Ireland was organizing a skiing fundraiser to Austria, something I never imagined someone with a visual impairment would do, but here was a group of blind people ready to take on the challenge! When I was invited to join, although initially daunting, I decided to just go for it! I couldn’t let a challenge like that pass me!

The trip was unbelievable. Gliding down the slopes of the Austrian Alps, surrounded by amazing people, each one breaking barriers, sharing laughter, and showing that determination knows no limits. It not only reinforced my belief about my own capability but reassured me that nothing is impossible for anybody.

It was the first of many ski trips.
